The Glottis

What we are talking about is like a Doughnut Hole, and not the ones you can purchase at Dunkin Donuts. Those Donut Holes you can purchase (I know they came up with a better name but you know where they come from.) are formed as a result of an action that creates the actual Hole in the Doughnut.

Like the Glottis, the holes in the doughnuts are free. They ought to be free. There is nothing there, but surrounded space. What a mess of words we use to make the glottis seem like an active little munchkin, when in fact it is no more substantial than the hole in a doughnut.

This space is important, however, because it is the location at which the fundamental energetic force, air pressure, is converted into the pressure waves that eventually pass into the air, free of the body. When this noise hits our ears we recognize it as voice.
